Martin Skrtel admits he is delighted with his burgeoning defensive partnership with the in-form Sotirios Kyrgiakos.
Having started each of Liverpool's last three Barclays Premier League games together, Skrtel is pleased with the understanding he has struck up with Kyrgiakos.
"It's going really well, he's a great player," said the Slovakian.
"He's a good guy off the pitch and I like the person and player. I think he won all his headers against Blackburn and he's very good from set-pieces."
Meanwhile, Skrtel is hoping Liverpool can now start to ascend the table following their Blackburn win.
The victory over the Lancashire side was only the Reds' second league success of the fledgling campaign so far - but the 25-year-old is optimistic they will soon move towards the higher reaches of the division.
"The league table isn't nice when you look at it," he said. "I think everything is close [at the bottom] and if we carry on winning I think we will go higher and higher.
"We were under pressure before the Blackburn game and everyone was expecting the win. Now that we have the win, we are very happy."
